All these need is paper and a pencil. Your child follows the screen one step at a time and ends up with something finished.
The four
- Art for Kids Hub (ages 5 to primary · free) — Rob draws beside his own children, and their attempts stay on screen next to his. That is the trick — a child sees a drawing they could actually manage.
Animals, food, characters they already love: the library is enormous. Six family members make it. There is a paid membership, but YouTube is free.
- Cartooning Club How to Draw (primary and up · free) — Superheroes, anime and game characters. Best for a child who already has a favourite they want to draw.
It suits slightly older children — more lines, longer steps.
- Draw So Cute (preschool–primary · free) — Exactly what the name says. Wennie runs it, and free colouring pages sit alongside the videos.
Handy when a child wants to keep going after the drawing is done.
- Draw With Rob (preschool–primary · free) — British picture-book author Rob Biddulph started this in the 2020 lockdowns, made for a parent and child to watch together.
The pace is unhurried and the voice is kind, which is what a first-time follower-along needs.

Are these channels free?
Every channel here is free to watch on YouTube. It is YouTube, so ads run. A few of them also sell an app or a membership separately, which is a different thing from the channel — where that applies, it is noted with the channel.
What ages are they for?
It is noted with each channel. Fewer channels state an age than you would expect — where the makers do not say, this guide says so. Watching a few minutes together is still the most accurate way to decide.
